Heather Anderson – RIP

January 31, 2016 By SSHA Leave a Comment

It is with great regret that SSHA has learned that Heather Anderson (whom many of you may have worked with or met at SSHA conference or at other Sexual Health/HIV forums) has passed away suddenly.

As an experienced HA of 14 years in East London, Heather was widely liked by colleagues in Sexual Health and HIV and was always able to provide compassionate, empathetic and expert care to patients. She was also professionally active in SSHA ,where she contributed a great deal ;but also in many other sexual health and HIV forums and is a loss to the speciality.

Having worked with Heather for a long time in Ambrose King Centre where she first started in health advising, I can vouch for her sense of humour and professional attitude and she was always a pleasure to work with and to be around ,both in work ,during SSHA business and also outside of work.

I’m sure the team and patients at Barts Health will miss her hugely as will the HA community and the wider sexual health and HIV networks in the UK, particularly in East London.

The HA team at Barts Health are collating a book of remembrance for Heather. They have asked that any recollections, thoughts or photographs about Heather be scanned & sent (especially from SSHA NPC meetings, conferences, etc.) be sent to them care of: Merle.Symonds@bartshealth.nhs.uk

Our condolences go to her colleagues and also to her family at this difficult time.

Jamie Hardie
Senior HA John Hunter Clinic/SSHA London Rep
