SSHA Treasurers Report: September 2011

The previous quarter has been quite busy with finalisation of this year’s conference. We are still awaiting around £825 to come in order to finalise any profit. This has been a successful period with lots of interest in attending conference in Cardiff and good numbers maintained even though we had some late cancellations. The interest I believe is due to the reasonable cost to delegates of attending and acting on the feedback when we asked members what they wanted from conference. I have much more confidence in our ability as a professional body to operate financially and maintain current level of activity.

Co-operative bank account

  • £12,470.00

Unity bank account

  • £850.00

Challenges for the future

Conference/Study days have to be maintained on a profit generating basis. We can and do give incredibly good value to our members –and can continue to keep costs to a minimum for the delegates while generating income. Conference 2011 has significantly improved the deficit/loss sustained from the previous two conferences.

To date we have had no positive responses from drug companies regarding funding for non specified educational bursary/website. Copies of correspondence are available for the NPC. Positive responses from local reps have been reported by individual NPC members and perhaps this is the way forward to raise sponsorship.
