GUNA Summer Clinical Meeting – Shaping Best Practice

The GUNA summer clinical meeting for 2013 is being held on Friday 28th June and focuses on ‘Shaping Best Practice.’

Bringing together some of the UK’s most renowned sexual health practitioners, policy makers and service preoviders, the meeting will explore the latest themes and current topics, providing a clinical update and new perspective for delegates working in the area of sexual health, HIV and contraception.

The Programme:

  • 08.30 – 09.30 Registration, drinks & exhibition viewing
  • 09.30 – 09.45 Chair’s welcome & opening remarks
  • 09.45 – 10.30 ‘New’ NHS in England – overview of the landscape’ – Leela Barham, Policy Advisor, RCN
  • 10.30 – 11.15 Antibiotic resistance in Neiseeria gonorrhoea – Michelle Cole, Healthcare Scientist, Health Protection Agency
  • 11.15 – 12.00 Men might be from mars … but are they also the elephant in the room: considering outcomes of poor male engagement with sexual health – Dr David Evans, Senior Lecturer Greenwich University
  • 12.00 – 12.45 The Sexplained Challenge – Helen Knox, Contraceptive Nurse Specialist
  • 12.45 – 13.00 Panel Question and answer
  • 13.00 – 14.00 Lunch
  • 14.15 – 15.00 [Presentation title pending] Matthew Grundy-Bowers, Clinical Fellow, City University
  • 15.00 – 15.45 HIV Associated Neurological Disorder (HAND) – Speaker to be confirmed
  • 15.45 – 16.30 GUNA Annual General Meeting

Meeting cost includes all refershments, conference pack and a certificate of attendance for CDP purposes.
