Health Protection Regulations Consultation

July 13, 2009 By SSHA

Letter from the Deputy Director, Legislation and Environmental Hazards Health Protection Division

Dear colleagues,

I write to inform you that a consultation on draft health protection regulations has been launched on the Department of Health website. As an organisation with an interest in this area of work, you are invited to comment on the draft regulations, which are fully explained in the consultation document. The document presents specific questions concerning issues that we are seeking views on – however, more general comments are also very welcome.

You may wish to note that the consultation does not cover “port health” aspects, which will be the subject of a later consultation exercise.

The consultation closing date and the deadline to send responses in is 30 September 2009.

The draft regulations, consultation document, impact assessments, and form for responding to the consultation can be found on the DH website at this address:

http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Consultations/Liveconsultations/DH_102134

The consultation response form can be filled out electronically and returned to us at this email address (healthprotectionregulations@dh.gsi.gov.uk). We would prefer forms to be submitted electronically. Alternatively, you can post your response to:

Robert Parsons
Health Protection Regulations Consultation
Department of Health
Room 514 Wellington House

Emails or correspondence can also be sent to these addresses. If you have any further queries on the consultation, please do feel free to telephone us on 020 7972 4048.

Yours faithfully,
Jonathan Stopes-Roe
