Qualified as a SRN at The Royal Free Hospital in London in 1975 and worked on Liver, Skins and Intensive care units before moving to Suffolk and qualifying as a Midwife in 1977.
Changed direction into Genito-Urinary Medicine in 1978 starting as a Staff Nurse progressing to Sister then ultimately becoming the Health Adviser in 1994.
Have enjoyed being a SSHA member and being on the NPC. This has given me such a lot of support especially when I was a lone Health Adviser in a busy rural clinic. Now there are two of us. I have always been very proud to represent the Eastern Region.
Complimentary courses include, certificate of management studies, certificate of Health Education, Practical Counselling skills, Family Planning and my highlight was doing the Health Advisers course in 1995 at Thames Valley University, London.
I’m married with two girls, one married and living in Hong Kong, which has increased my desire to soon retire and travel.
