SSHA/BASHH Conference 2026

Following highly successful SSHA conferences over the past decade, SSHA is thrilled to invite Sexual Health Advisers and Nurses to register for the inaugural joint conference from SSHA and BASHH (British Association for Sexual Health and HIV) on 6th November 2026, online.

We have chosen the theme “Resilience and Reinvention” as we know that these are skills that many Sexual Health Advisers have had to become expert in.

We are having sessions on:

  • Developing as a Sexual Health Adviser
  • Ccomplex Partner notification issues
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Vicarious Trauma

This one-day conference has been specially designed in response to feedback from nurses and sexual health advisers, focusing on the topics, skills, and discussions that matter most in day-to-day practice.

Bringing together professionals from across the field, the event will offer practical insights, shared experiences, and opportunities to connect with colleagues nationwide in an accessible online format.

Pop it in your calendar now and stay tuned for further details and registration information on the SSHA website.

A copy of the draft programme can be found here.

How to book

Please visit the Conference booking page on the BASHH website:

Bursary Places

SSHA and BASHH expect the majority of Sexual Health Advisers and Nurses will be able to access funding from their employer to attend this conference.

To support anyone who is unable to access funding, the conference organisers have allocated a limited number of bursary places. If you wish to apply for a bursary place and are able to confirm that your employer will not fund your attendance at this conference, please use the link on the booking form to complete the application form. Deadline is 30th June 2026.

2025 Conference Feedback

Here is what some people thought of our last conference – don’t risk missing out on this one!

“I found the Conference very informative and uplifting. Gave me reassurance of why Sexual Health Advisers are so valuable in the workforce with their case management. Seeing the work others do along with my own practice – we are exceptional.”

“Really enjoyed the variety of subjects covered – good mix of clinical learning too.”

“This was a really helpful cross-section of the different aspects of Sexual Health Adviser work: Young People, safeguarding, PEP and PrEP, Partner Notification. Really well done putting together such a relevant and interesting group of presentations.”

“A very enjoyable and informative day, thank you for organising. I really appreciate the virtual nature of the conference, so much easier to attend!”
